Baking Across America: A Vintage Recipe Road Trip

I loved this book, it is a perfect companion to the first one but this one highlights each state for a recipe or more unique to that area with some history and commentary as well. If you've ever watched any of his videos on TokTok or YouTube, you know about his quirky personality, Dylan Hollis just brings out the best in his presentations. It won't be long before you find yourself saying 'floof powder' or 'eggeeeze' as you bake your own. It's a history book, a baking book and a comedy all rolled into one, it makes being in the kitchen fun again!

Having gotten his first book I knew this one was going to be great but I was quite surprised by how much more we liked this one. The last one was great and all but there are definitely a lot more "Do again/Keeper" recipes in this one. -It came in well packaged and in perfect shape. -It is hardcover with very thick pages that hold up to heavy use and even food spillage. -The spine is very well made and is holding up really well. -It is very well written and very clear. This definitely embodies Dylan and his baking style all the way. -In this one there are a bunch of interesting stores/covers that makes it almost like an adventure book. -I love how he starts out his books with the tip sections, so weather you are a beginner baker or a seasoned one there are definitely some helpful bits in there. -All of the recipes are easy to follow and the instructions are in depth. -As for the selection of recipes this book is AMAZING! Unlike some books that just stick to one type this one jumps all over the place so you won't be getting board if you just want to go front to back or any way. LOL it does make for a bit of a challenge finding a recipe in the back though. I finally gave in and bought some sticky reusable index tabs to mark the ones to try, try soon, and make again (and again...). Which honestly there is only a very small handful in this one that I'll probably pass on trying. Overall I would not only recommend this book I would insist you get this if you or anyone you know if even remotely into baking.

I have a huge crush on Dylan B Hollis! He’s so fun and interesting to watch and this cookbook is so amazing.Interesting stories about the recipes.love the food the pictures and his choice of recipes in this book. I have his first one too!
